Seasonal Wildland Fire Fighters

The Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre does not extinguish fires therefore we do not hire firefighters. Each of the CIFFC member agencies (the provincial, territorial and federal agencies, ministries or departments mandated with wildland fire response) hire their own full time employees and either hire or contract seasonal employees. Saskatchewan Environment Ministry - Senior Meteorologist - Prince Albert, Saskatchewan

The position manages the weather program staffed by two fire weather meteorologists. The Unit produces fire weather analysis, forecast and briefing in support of wildfire operations. The Unit produces a suite of reports, case studies, projects and fire weather course modules. The position directs the maintenance of a network of automated fire weather stations serviced by Technical Service Unit. The incumbent will occasionally fill rotational shifts during the fire season.
